Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Moneyment ("Moneyment", "we", "our", "us", or the "App") is a personal finance management application designed to help users organise and track loans, EMIs, payments, money lent to others, and related financial information. Moneyment is operated by an individual developer ("the Developer"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal and financial information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we collect it, how we use and protect it, when it may be shared, how long we retain it, and the choices and rights available to you. By downloading, accessing, registering for, or using Moneyment, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by applicable law, we will obtain the appropriate consent before processing your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Moneyment and which features you choose to use. Account and Sign-In Information — When you create or access a Moneyment account, we may collect your name or display name, email address, account identifier, authentication information, and password credentials (stored using secure password-hashing rather than plain text). If you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, we receive the information necessary to create and maintain your account, such as your name, email address, and provider-specific account identifier. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple account password. Financial Information You Enter — Moneyment allows you to enter financial information for personal tracking and organisational purposes, including loan and lender details, borrower or lender names, loan amounts, interest rates, EMI amounts, repayment schedules, payment dates and records, outstanding balances, money lent to or borrowed from others, information identifying a card or account associated with a loan (where you choose to provide it), and notes or categories you voluntarily enter. This may constitute sensitive personal or financial information; we apply appropriate security measures to protect it. Moneyment does not automatically obtain information from your banks or lenders unless a feature expressly states otherwise, and does not require or store your internet-banking password, banking PIN, debit/credit card PIN, or CVV/CVC. Moneyment does not store complete card numbers. Device and App Information — We may process limited technical information such as device type and model, operating system and version, app version, platform, app/project or installation identifiers, and update/runtime information, used to operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and update the App. We do not intentionally collect precise location information. Usage Information — Moneyment currently does not use third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Sentry, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Meta/Facebook SDKs, or AdMob. We therefore do not currently collect behavioural analytics or tracking information through such third-party services. If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when such functionality is introduced.

3. Local Storage and Cloud Storage

Free / Local Storage Mode — If you use Moneyment in Free/local storage mode, your financial data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to Moneyment's servers merely because you enter, view, edit, or calculate information within the App. Calculations and insights are performed on your device. Because this data remains on your device, its security also depends on your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.). If you uninstall the App, reset your device, lose your device, or delete locally stored app data, information stored only on that device may be permanently lost. Pro / Cloud Sync Mode — If you use Moneyment's Pro cloud-sync functionality, information necessary to provide that service may be transmitted to and stored on our servers. Moneyment's production application infrastructure, including deployment, hosting, database management, and autoscaling, is managed using Replit, Inc. and its infrastructure and services. Cloud-stored information is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in access-controlled systems, associated with your account and intended to be accessible only through authorised access to that account.

4. How We Use Your Information

We may use information we collect to: • Create and maintain your Moneyment account • Provide the App and its functionality • Store and synchronise information for Pro users • Display loans, EMIs, payment schedules, balances, and related information • Perform calculations based on information you provide • Generate financial summaries, projections, insights, and analytics within the App • Provide local payment and EMI reminders that you have enabled • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries • Diagnose technical problems where information is made available to us • Maintain and improve the security and reliability of Moneyment • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorised access, or other misuse • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and governmental requests • Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of Moneyment, our users, and others • Fulfil other purposes disclosed to you at the time information is collected or for which you provide consent where required We do not sell your personal or financial information.

5. On-Device Calculations and Insights

Certain Moneyment features, including Deep Insights and other financial analytics, use deterministic calculations and algorithms that operate locally on your device. These calculations are based on the financial information you provide to the App. Your financial information is not sent to an external artificial-intelligence service or third-party AI provider to generate these insights. The calculations and insights are intended for informational and organisational purposes only and may differ from calculations or figures provided by your bank, lender, or other financial institution. Moneyment does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, lending, or other professional advice.

6. Financial Data and Reliance on External Records

Moneyment is a personal finance tracking and organisational tool. It does not independently verify the financial information you enter. Calculations and figures displayed by Moneyment may differ from figures provided by your bank, lender, or financial institution due to differences in calculation methods, interest-rate conventions, rounding, transaction dates, fees, charges, taxes, payment processing dates, or other factors. Statements, account information, outstanding balances, interest calculations, payment schedules, and other figures provided directly by your bank, lender, or financial institution should be treated as the authoritative records. You should verify important financial information directly with the relevant institution before making payments or other financial commitments.

7. Notifications

Moneyment may provide optional reminders and notifications, including payment reminders, EMI reminders, or other alerts. These reminders are currently scheduled and delivered locally on your device. Moneyment does not currently register your device for remote push notifications for these reminders. You can enable or disable notifications through the App or your device's notification settings. Essential service communications, such as security notices or important account-related communications, may still be provided where necessary.

8. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple

Moneyment allows you to create or access your account using third-party authentication services such as Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple. When you choose one of these services, the applicable provider may process information in accordance with its own privacy policy. Moneyment receives information necessary to authenticate you and maintain your account, which may include your name, email address, and provider-specific account identifier. Moneyment does not receive or store your Google or Apple account password. Your use of these authentication services is also subject to the applicable provider's terms and privacy policies.

9. App Updates and Replit/Expo Services

Moneyment uses Expo's application update infrastructure to provide and manage App updates. When the App checks for available updates, limited technical information such as app version, platform, runtime version, project or installation information, and update-channel information may be processed by the update infrastructure. This information is used to determine and deliver compatible App updates and maintain the App's update functionality. Moneyment does not send your financial records to the update service as part of the normal update-check process. Moneyment's production application, hosting, deployment, database, and autoscaling infrastructure is managed through Replit, Inc. Replit may process, store, transmit, back up, or otherwise handle information as necessary to provide the infrastructure and services used to operate Moneyment. Replit's handling of information is also subject to its applicable terms, privacy policy, and other contractual terms governing its services.

10. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personal or financial information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes. We may disclose information in limited circumstances: Service Providers — We may use trusted third-party companies and service providers to help operate Moneyment, including providers of: • Cloud hosting, deployment, database, and infrastructure services • Application hosting and autoscaling • Authentication services • Application update infrastructure • Subscription and payment processing • Security and infrastructure services • Other technical services necessary to operate the App These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services. Legal Requirements — We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or regulation, respond to a valid legal process or governmental request, investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity, or protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Moneyment, our users, or others. Business Transfers — If Moneyment or substantially all of its assets are acquired, merged, reorganised, or transferred, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate privacy protections.

11. Payments and Subscriptions

Moneyment may offer paid Pro subscriptions through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other authorised payment platforms. Payment transactions are generally processed by the applicable platform or payment provider rather than directly by Moneyment. Moneyment does not require or store your full payment-card number, CVV/CVC, card PIN, or banking authentication credentials as part of the normal subscription process. Information such as subscription status, transaction identifiers, purchase dates, subscription type, and related information may be made available to us by the applicable platform where necessary to manage your subscription. Your subscription may also be subject to the applicable platform's terms, privacy policy, billing policies, and refund policies.

12. Data Sharing Initiated by You

Some Moneyment features may allow you to export, copy, or otherwise share information with other people or services. When you intentionally initiate such an action, the information may leave Moneyment and may become subject to the privacy practices of the recipient or third-party service. You are responsible for ensuring that you share information only with people or services you trust.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal and financial information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Moneyment, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, or fulfil other legitimate purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For active cloud accounts, your account and associated cloud data will generally remain stored while your account is active. If you delete your account through the App, we will initiate deletion of your account and associated server-side personal and financial data. We aim to permanently remove your account and associated data from our active production systems within 30 days, subject to technical limitations, legal obligations, security requirements, legitimate backup retention, and other circumstances where retention is permitted or required by law. Information retained in backups may remain for a limited additional period until those backups are securely overwritten or deleted. Certain information may need to be retained for longer where required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with legitimate regulatory requirements.

14. Account and Data Deletion

If you have a Moneyment account, you may delete your account and associated server-side data through the in-App account deletion functionality, available at Settings → Security → Delete Account. When account deletion is confirmed: your account is processed for deletion; your loans, card associations, bank accounts, EMIs, lending information, and other associated financial records are deleted from active systems; information we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain may be retained for the applicable period; and data stored only locally on your device must be separately deleted from the device if you wish to remove it completely. If you cannot access your account or the in-App deletion function, you may contact us at info@moneyment.app to request account deletion.

15. Data Export

Pro users may have access to data-export functionality. Where available, exported information may be provided in a format intended to allow you to retain or use your financial records outside Moneyment. Once you export or download your data, we are not responsible for how that copy is subsequently stored, transferred, shared, or protected.

16. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to: • Request access to personal information we hold about you • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information • Request deletion of your personal information • Request information about how your personal information is processed • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent • Request restriction of certain processing where applicable • Request a copy or export of certain information • Object to certain processing where applicable • Lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection or regulatory authority where applicable Some rights may be subject to legal exceptions or limitations. To exercise a privacy right, use the available in-App controls or contact us at info@moneyment.app. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

17. Data Security

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal and financial information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction. These measures may include password hashing using bcrypt or an equivalent secure mechanism, encryption of data transmitted between the App and our servers using HTTPS/TLS, access-controlled databases and infrastructure, authentication and authorisation controls, restricted access to production systems, and security monitoring and logging where implemented. However, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for protecting your device, account credentials, PIN, password, and other authentication mechanisms.

18. Security Incidents

If we become aware of a security incident involving your personal information that requires notification under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, contain, remediate, and report the incident as required by law. Where legally required, we will notify affected users and/or the relevant regulatory authorities within the applicable timeframe.

19. International Data Transfers

Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used to operate Moneyment, information may be processed or stored in India or other countries. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that such transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data-protection laws and appropriate safeguards.

20. Children's Privacy

Moneyment is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Where applicable law establishes a higher minimum age or additional requirements, those requirements will apply. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Moneyment, please contact us at info@moneyment.app.

21. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Moneyment itself does not currently use traditional web-browser cookies for its core App functionality. Our website or web-based services may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for purposes such as authentication, security, functionality, or service performance. Where required by applicable law, appropriate consent or controls will be provided.

22. Advertising

Moneyment does not currently display third-party advertising and does not sell your personal or financial information to advertisers. We do not use your loan, EMI, lending, repayment, or other financial records to provide targeted advertising to you. If advertising is introduced into Moneyment in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when such functionality is introduced.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Moneyment, our data practices, applicable law, or our services. If we make material changes, we will provide appropriate notice through the App or other reasonable means where required. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was most recently revised. Your continued use of Moneyment after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Service Discontinuation

Moneyment may be modified, suspended, or discontinued if required by law, regulation, governmental or judicial action, security considerations, changes in technology or third-party services, or if we determine that continued operation or maintenance of the App is no longer commercially or technically viable. If the service is discontinued, we will take reasonable steps, where practicable and subject to applicable law, to provide users with notice and, where available, an opportunity to export their cloud-stored data before permanent deletion.

25. Relationship with the Terms & Conditions

This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Moneyment Terms & Conditions. The Terms & Conditions govern your use of Moneyment, while this Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, process, and protect personal information. If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy or data-protection law, the applicable law will prevail.

26. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the applicable laws of India, subject to any mandatory privacy or data-protection rights that apply to you based on your location or applicable law.
